We have seen a few photos and a really cool promotional video in the last few weeks to show off the All-New Hyundai IONIQ Hybrid vehicle, but it made it's official debut at the Geneva Motor Show this past week.  Here at Lauria Hyundai we are very excited for it's arrival in our Port Hope, ON showroom so each time we get a little more news about the IONIQ we will be sure to pass it along.

Sure the Geneva Motor Show is typically known for exotics and high-powered sports cars, but that doesn't mean there's no place for fuel-efficient hybrids. Hyundai's version of a Prius fighter will come in three different flavors: all electric, plug-in hybrid and conventional hybrid. Both the standard hybrid and plug-in hybrid models use a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine paired to a six-speed, dual-clutch transmission. Along with an electric motor, total system output comes in at 139 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque.

The plug-in hybrid variant is capable of returning an all-electric range of around 31 miles thanks to its larger 8.9-kWh lithium-ion battery pack.

The all-electric 2017 Hyundai IONIQ features a 28-kWh lithium-ion-polymer battery pack that is capable of returning over 155 miles on a single charge. Total output on the all-electric model is 118 hp and 217 lb-ft of torque. Official fuel economy figures haven't been announced, but Hyundai is confident the standard hybrid will return at least 50 mpg on the highway.
